Master Your Kipping Mechanics & Build Towards Bar Muscle-Ups
A 2-hour workshop designed to refine your kipping fundamentals and set you up for bar muscle-up success.
Hour One:
We'll start by reviewing the mechanics that underpin efficient kipping - the hip drive, timing, and body positions that make kipping movements feel effortless.
Then we’ll dive into how these mechanics play out for endurance on intermediate skills like the toes to bar, followed by how to translate these mechanics into the bar muscle up.
Hour two:
The second half of the workshop will focus on handstand skills - building the shapes, balance, and body awareness that you need to hold and walk upside down.
This workshop is for athletes who want to move better, not just move more. Expect clear coaching, scalable progressions, and practical drills you can take back to your gym.

Itinerary
-
Try to arrive a little early so I can make sure everyone is here before we begin (and learn some names!)
-
The first section focuses on reviewing optimal arch and hollow positions on the floor and translating those to the rig.
Hint: there’s a big thing a lot of people miss that we will cover!
-
We will focus on toes to bar skills first (and how to build the straight arm strength needed for better endurance on the rig), followed by progressions for learning the bar muscle up.
-
To give our hands and lats a break, we’ll move onto handstand holds and walks.
We’ll focus on shapes, then balance drills, then requirements for longer holds and walks so you know what to practice in your own gym.
-
We aim to be done by 11am, but I recommend booking your brunch dates no earlier than 12 just in case we spill over time a little. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
